DS425+ is an Intel-powered 4-bay desktop NAS for private cloud, media streaming, secure backup and sync. A 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron J4125 4-core CPU and 2GB of onboard DDR4 RAM run Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), delivering sequential performance up to 278 MB/s reads and 281 MB/s writes with hardware encryption. Four drive bays natively support 3.5" SATA hard drives as well as 2.5" SATA hard drives and SSDs, and two M.2 2280 slots can be set up to create an NVMe cache. Networking covers 1 x 2.5GbE and 1 x 1GbE port, with 2 x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports for local connectivity. RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, Hybrid, Basic and JBOD are all supported. DSM's built-in tools let users build a private cloud, organise and stream music, video and photo collections across devices, collaborate with partners, and set up an intuitive surveillance system.
