The Twin 10G Thunderbolt 3 adapter reaches its two 10GbE ports over ordinary copper cabling — RJ45 connectors running 10GBASE-T across Cat 6A cable to 100 metres, or Cat 6 to 55 metres — rather than fibre transceivers. Two Thunderbolt 3 ports let you daisy-chain up to six Thunderbolt devices from the same connection, and an onboard Intel X550 controller handles flow control and TCP, UDP and IPv4 checksum processing so the host CPU isn't doing that work. Both 10GbE ports support transparent failover and link aggregation for a more resilient network connection, and a variable-speed fan keeps the adapter's internal components cool under sustained load. A Thunderbolt 3 cable with ThunderLok clip is included.
