Two preinstalled SFP28 transceivers on LC connectors, rated for runs of up to 300 metres, give the Twin10G SFP28 Thunderbolt adapter its optical reach, delivering ten times the throughput of Gigabit Ethernet on each of its two 10GbE ports. Two Thunderbolt ports handle the host connection, and a built-in smart controller with onboard memory keeps latency low and helps avoid packet drops during sustained transfers. The adapter itself runs with minimal CPU load, keeping demand on the host system down, and operates quietly in a compact, rugged enclosure suited to a workstation that moves between locations. A Thunderbolt cable is included in the box, and the adapter is built to work across Mac, Windows and Linux systems.
