The K2 is Rode's variable-pattern studio microphone, built around a dual 1.0-inch condenser capsule and Class-A valve (tube) circuitry rather than solid-state electronics. A hand-selected 6922 twin-triode valve sits at the heart of the circuit, giving the K2 its characteristic warmth while still reproducing a flat, uncoloured frequency response. It has a wide 150 dB dynamic range, so it picks up low-level detail accurately and handles transient peaks without distortion.
