The Fujinon UA24x7.8BERD is a 4K UHD 24x zoom for 2/3" broadcast cameras, delivering 4K+ compatible resolution in a compact, lightweight body built for ENG-style handheld operation.
24x zoom with 2x extender reach
The lens covers a 7.8-187mm range with a 24x zoom ratio, and the built-in 2x extender doubles that to 15.6-374mm (48x) when engaged, for telephoto reach without changing lenses.
Fast aperture held to the telephoto end
Maximum aperture is a fast f/1.8 at 7.8-118mm, ramping only to f/2.85 at the 187mm telephoto end, so the lens stays workable across most of its zoom range as available light drops rather than only at the wide end. A nine-blade aperture produces natural-looking bokeh in out-of-focus areas, for a more film-like rendering of background highlights.
Servo control and zoom handling
A digital servo drives both focus and zoom, and 16-bit encoders build in compatibility with virtual production systems, letting the lens's position be tracked in virtual and augmented broadcast workflows. Zoom handling includes a zoom limit with an override switch, selectable zoom modes and a zoom speed cruise feature for a consistent, repeatable zoom speed, alongside a QuickZoom function for a fast check of focus at the telephoto end before returning to the working focal length.
Compact and lightweight for handheld work
At 220.5mm long and 1.98kg without the lens hood, the UA24x7.8BERD keeps a compact, lightweight build for handheld and shoulder-mount ENG operation, where every gram carried through a long day matters.
Built for fast-turnaround broadcast assignments
The combination of servo zoom and focus, extended reach via the built-in extender, and a lightweight body suits electronic news gathering and general broadcast production where an operator needs to move between wide and telephoto framing quickly, without swapping lenses mid-assignment.
