The Fujinon UA22x8BERD is a portable broadcast telephoto zoom lens with optical performance compatible with 2/3" format 4K UHD cameras, built for live sport coverage, indoor and outdoor program production, and news reporting where reach and image quality both matter.

22x zoom with 2x extender reach

The lens covers a focal length range from 8mm at wide angle to 176mm at telephoto — a 22x zoom ratio — and a built-in 2x extender adds further telephoto reach for shots that need to close right in on distant action, without changing to a second lens body.

Consistent 4K performance across the frame

A floating focus system controls multiple lens groups according to shooting distance, delivering high-resolution, high-contrast images from close-up through to infinity and enabling genuine 4K video production rather than an upscaled HD image. That 4K optical performance is held from centre to corner throughout the zoom range, and wide dynamic range is maintained across the entire range, not only at the wide end where it's easiest to achieve toward the middle of the range.

Handling and control for broadcast operators

A nine-blade iris produces natural-looking bokeh in out-of-focus areas, and a focus position demand unit with 16-bit encoding supports accurate, repeatable focusing for studio and remote-controlled setups. The lens is compatible with most typical accessories used in TV broadcast operations, and is RoHS compliant.

Built for portable broadcast work

A lightweight, compact build keeps the UA22x8BERD suited to handheld and shoulder-mount operation as well as fixed rigs, for operators covering live sport, indoor and outdoor program production, and news reporting who need to move quickly between setups without extra bulk to carry.
