The Fujinon HA25x16.5ERD-S is a 2/3" high-definition telephoto lens for ENG/EFP cameras, built around a 25x optical zoom with a 2x extender for instant telephoto reach. It's designed for gyro-stabilised airborne and remote photography, where light weight and compact dimensions are critical, and it sits in the same optical family as the motor-extender HA25x16.5ERD-F18 as the standard, hand-operated version.

A 25x zoom with a 2x extender

On its own the lens spans 16.5–413mm; bring in the 2x extender and reach opens out to 33–826mm. Maximum relative aperture sits at F2.8 through 16.5–289mm and falls to F4 once the lens is racked to 413mm. The extender is selected at the lens barrel's extender-select lever, rather than switched in remotely.

QuickZoom and DIGI Power servo handling

QuickZoom snaps the lens to full telephoto and back at a touch, a fast way to check focus before framing the shot. The standard Digi Power zoom and focus servo, with direct RS232 control, keeps zoom and focus under remote command even though the extender itself is a manual selection.

Compact enough for remote and airborne work

At 2.9kg (without lens hood) and with reduced focus breathing, this is the heavier of Fujinon's two HA25x optical blocks in this range, built for gyro-stabilised aircraft, remote wildlife photography and HD surveillance work all the same. It closes down to a 2.2m minimum object distance and takes an M107 x 1 filter — figures identical to the motor-extender HA25x16.5ERD-F18, since the two share the same 16.5–413mm optical block and differ only in how the extender is engaged.
