The lens covers a 5.5 to 100mm focal range for an ultra-wide-to-telephoto angle of view, and engaging the built-in 2x extender doubles that reach, adding telephoto capability without swapping to a second lens body. 4K origination is supported across the entire zoom range, from the wide end through to full telephoto reach, useful when framing can't be predicted in advance.

Fast aperture held through most of the zoom

Maximum aperture is a fast f/1.8 from 5.5 to 63mm, stepping down to f/2.8 at the 100mm telephoto end. Holding f/1.8 across most of the zoom range, rather than only at the wide end, keeps the lens workable as available light drops during a long shoot day.

Digital zoom servo with switchable focus control

A digital servo drives the zoom, and focus can be switched between manual and servo control depending on the operator and the shot at hand. An Innerfocus design minimises the effects of lens breathing — the shift in field of view that can occur during a focus pull — so the angle of view stays more consistent through a rack focus.
