The Fujinon GF19-35mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR is the second power zoom lens in the GF lineup for Fujifilm's large-format GFX system, and the wide companion to the GF32-90mm. It covers 19-35mm — a 15-28mm full-frame equivalent — at a constant T3.5 across the whole zoom range, keeping exposure steady through a zoom rather than ramping as the lens moves toward its long end. For a large-format production shooting GFX, that constant aperture matters as much as the focal range itself: it lets a zoom move be planned and executed without an operator or focus puller compensating on the iris mid-shot.

Optical design and image stabilisation

The optical path uses 23 elements in 15 groups, including four ED elements and three aspherical elements, with a 13-blade iris for smooth out-of-focus rendering across the large-format image circle. Optical image stabilisation (OIS) is built into the lens itself, and the focus ring rotates through 200° for fine, repeatable manual control on a follow-focus system.

Premista-derived power-zoom handling

The lens inherits the operability and design of Fujinon's Premista cinema zooms, with the lens structure and DC motor purpose-optimised for power-zoom operation, keeping the body to approximately 2.1kg despite the large-format image circle it has to cover. That cine-derived handling is the point of difference from a stills-style power zoom: the mechanism is built for a production workflow rather than as a photo-lens convenience feature.

A matched pair with the GF32-90mm

The GF19-35mm and GF32-90mm are built to work as a set: matched length, weight, filter diameter and standardised accessory compatibility mean swapping between the two on a shoot needs minimal rebalancing, exposure compensation or rig reconfiguration. A crew can carry both as a wide-to-standard and standard-to-tele pairing and keep the same matte box, filters and support rigging across the change.

Compact for a large-format lens

Approximately 222mm long and approximately 2.1kg, the lens is dust- and weather-resistant, suited to location work as well as controlled studio environments where the large-format GFX system is used for high-end commercial and documentary production.
