The Canon CR-N400 is a 4K60p PTZ camera for broadcast, educational, corporate and house-of-worship installs, designed to be operated remotely so one person can run a camera, or several, from a single position. This is the white version.

4K60p and HDR

A 1/2.3-type CMOS sensor and the DIGIC DV7 processor output UHD 4K up to 59.94p in 4:2:2 10-bit over 12G-SDI and HDMI. HDR is supported in PQ and HLG, with Canon Log 3 and Wide DR gamma options.

Long reach, hands-off focus

The 20x optical zoom reaches 40x with Advanced Zoom in Full HD, giving reach from a fixed mounting position without a lens change. Hybrid AF works with face and eye detection and tracking, Canon's Auto Tracking App RA-AT001 (Lite) is free with a paid RA-AT001 licence for full functionality, and Region of Interest cropping lets one camera produce three feeds up to Full HD.

Broadcast-style connections

Outputs cover 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HDMI, IP and USB-C (UVC). Genlock and timecode BNC terminals, two XLR audio inputs and a 3.5 mm mic input suit studio workflows, and front and rear tally lamps show when the camera is live. NDI|HX2, SRT, FreeD, RTP/RTSP, RTMP/RTMPS and Canon's XC protocol handle streaming and control over IP, letting it sit in a multi-camera broadcast or streaming setup.

Control, power and finish

Control is over LAN, Wi-Fi, serial or IR, with up to 100 presets and pan and tilt speeds from 0.1°/s. Power comes over PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt) or 12 V DC; PoE and PoE+ cannot be used. The body weighs approx. 3.1 kg. The white finish suits rooms where the camera should blend into light ceilings or walls.
