The Canon CR-N300 is a 4K PTZ camera for remote-controlled, minimal-crew productions: houses of worship, corporate and conference rooms, courtrooms, streaming and multi-camera event work. Operated remotely, it lets one person run a camera, or several, from a single position. This is the white version.

Sensor, lens and focus

A 1/2.3-type CMOS sensor and the DIGIC DV6 processor deliver UHD 4K up to 30p. The 20x optical zoom, with an optical image stabiliser, covers 29.3 to 601 mm in 35mm equivalent terms in 4K UHD, extended by a further 20x digital zoom. Hybrid AF with face detection keeps focus quick and accurate when no operator is on the camera.

Networks and streaming

The CR-N300 supports NDI|HX, SRT, FreeD, RTMP/RTMPS, RTP/RTSP and Canon's XC protocol, and a single PoE+ cable carries power and data to keep installs tidy. Canon's Auto Tracking App RA-AT001 (Lite) is free with firmware 1.5.0 or later, with a paid RA-AT001 licence for full functionality.

Outputs and control

Video runs out over HDMI, 3G-SDI, IP or USB Type-C, feeding a switcher, a network or a computer directly, and a 3.5 mm microphone input takes audio at the camera. Control is over IP, RS-422 serial, infrared or Wi-Fi, and the camera works with Canon's RC-IP300 controller for hands-on pan, tilt and zoom.

Movement and finish

Pan covers ±170° and tilt -30° to +100°, with up to 100 presets, in a body of approx. 2.2 kg. The white finish suits rooms where the camera should blend into light ceilings or walls.
