Embedding audio into an SDI signal — the reverse job to the SDI to Audio de-embedder — is what the Teranex Mini Audio to SDI 12G Converter does, taking any SDI signal up to Full 4K DCI 4096x2160p via its 12G-SDI input and combining it with audio drawn from a diverse set of connections. Two channels of analog audio or up to four channels of AES/EBU digital can be embedded via full-size balanced XLR ports, alongside two channels of unbalanced analog on RCA or optical S/PDIF over TOSLINK, with the combined signal leaving via a 12G-SDI output. XLR connections switch to AES/EBU, an Ethernet port covers remote control or PoE, and intelligent thermal heat dissipation suits rack-mount, cable-duct or desktop installation, with up to three units fitting a single 19-inch rack.
