The Ki Pro Rack is a tapeless, file-based video recorder that captures and records ready-to-edit ProRes and DNxHD files in 10-bit 4:2:2 full-raster quality, writing onto HDD or SSD storage modules that are sold separately. It fits facilities that want file-based capture and playback without changing an existing tape-deck-style operating routine, and it's built to sit alongside other rack-mounted broadcast equipment.

Ready-to-edit ProRes and DNxHD capture

File-based recording and playback produces ready-to-edit ProRes and DNxHD files straight off the deck, in full-raster format. The 10-bit 4:2:2 colour depth gives superior dynamic range, closer-to-original picture representation, and more flexibility when adjusting colour and balance in post, and two slots are available for the HDD or SSD storage modules that hold the recordings.

Onboard hardware conversion

Hardware up, down and cross conversion runs onboard the deck, letting it move between formats as part of the recording or playback path rather than requiring a separate external converter.

RS-422 and IP control across editing and tape-based workflows

Broad RS-422 integration connects the Ki Pro Rack to editing systems, external controllers, and tape decks, allowing it to capture tape-based media as ProRes. IP-assigned web control and configuration adds a network path for setup and management alongside the RS-422 connection.

Tape-deck-style controls in a compact rack build

Tape-deck-style panel controls keep transport operation familiar at the front of the unit, which fits standard cabling and routing systems and occupies just 1 RU of rack height — a straightforward addition to an existing rack of broadcast equipment alongside other decks and routers.
