The Ki Pro Ultra 12G DCI/UHD/HD Recorder and Player is a portable media recorder built around a 4.8-inch LCD screen, equally suited to location shoots and studio recording and playback duties. It records a single 4K stream, in either DCI 4K or UHD 4K, or multiple HD streams at once, and brings ProRes together with Avid DNxHR and DNxHD codec support and SDI/HDMI connectivity in the one deck.

Single-channel 4K and multi-channel HD recording

Recording covers a single 4K stream in either DCI 4K or UHD 4K using ProRes, and up to four channels of HD recording running simultaneously, also in ProRes. Avid DNxHR recording supports single-channel 4K, UltraHD, 2K and HD capture and playback, while Avid DNxHD recording is limited to HD 1080/720 formats, giving the Ultra 12G a codec set that spans both ProRes-based and Avid-based post-production pipelines.

12G-SDI, 3G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 connectivity

Connectivity is built around a 12G-SDI input and output alongside three 3G-SDI inputs and outputs, plus HDMI 2.0, covering single-cable 12G-SDI workflows and multi-cable 3G-SDI infrastructure from the same deck without an external converter.

Deck-style controls with Ethernet and RS-422

Operation runs through the built-in 4.8-inch LCD display, a rotary knob and deck-like control buttons for familiar transport handling on set, with Ethernet and RS-422 control both available for remote operation and integration into a wider edit or ingest workflow.

Two Pak media slots in a rack-ready build

Two AJA Pak media slots handle the recording media, and the deck is built to a 2 RU height at half-rack width for rack integration alongside other broadcast equipment, with redundant 4-pin XLR DC power inputs providing resilience against a single power failure on set.
