The HA5-12G is AJA's HDMI 2.0 to 12G-SDI mini-converter, taking a single HDMI 2.0 input and delivering it as dual 12G-SDI single-link outputs to minimise cable runs across an HDMI distribution setup; HDCP-protected HDMI content is not supported for conversion to the unencrypted SDI outputs. It supports video resolutions up to DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) and UHD 4K (3840 x 2160), accepting input up to DCI 4K60, and uses Two Sample Interleave (2SI) source-mapping so a UHD 4K monitor can be used to view a DCI 4K source; high frame rates of 60/50fps are output for viewing at 60p. It analyses HDR InfoFrame data carried in the HDMI input. Audio runs on eight channels of HDMI-embedded input, output as either 8- or 2-channel embedded audio on the 12G-SDI side, with two RCA (L/R) analogue audio inputs alongside it. This is the base model in AJA's HA5-12G range, taking its output directly over SDI with no fibre option.
