The SymplyPRO XTF Thunderbolt desktop houses a full-height enterprise LTO-9 tape drive for facilities running heavier archive volumes than a half-height drive comfortably handles. It connects over Thunderbolt 3 with a 12 Gb/s SAS interface, in the same sleek space-grey enclosure as the rest of the SymplyPRO desktop range.

Secure, drag-and-drop archive

The drive's LTFS file system lets a tape mount and copy like a removable drive, and AES 256-bit hardware encryption protects data at rest; once a finished cartridge is removed it stays a fully offline, air-gapped copy, isolated from network-based ransomware.

In the box: a data cartridge and cleaning cartridge, a 2m active Thunderbolt 4 cable and SymplyATOM software for macOS. An internal auto-switching power supply runs on 110-240V mains, and the drive is backed by a 3-year worldwide warranty, extendable to 5 years, and is TAA Certified. It also works with third-party archive software such as Archiware P5 and Veeam for facilities standardising on a managed backup workflow — cover that suits a single edit suite as readily as a larger shared post facility.
