The SymplyPRO XTF Thunderbolt desktop houses a full-height enterprise LTO-10 tape drive for facilities running heavier archive volumes than a half-height drive comfortably handles. It connects over Thunderbolt 3, with a 12 Gb/s SFF-8644 SAS expansion port that can connect up to two SAS tape drives — the newest tape generation in the SymplyPRO desktop range.

Capacity for heavier archive volumes

A single LTO-10 cartridge gives this full-height drive up to 30TB of native capacity and up to 400 MB/s native read/write speed; using 2.5:1 compression, that rises to 75TB of storage at up to 1000 MB/s. This drive is not compatible with LTO-9 tapes.

Secure, drag-and-drop archive

The drive supports LTFS, so a tape mounts and copies like a removable drive, and 256-bit encryption with WORM (write-once-read-many) media support covers compliance-driven retention. Once a finished cartridge is removed, it's a fully offline, air-gapped copy, isolated from network-based ransomware.

SymplyATOM software manages the drive on macOS, and Symply backs the SymplyPRO desktop range with a 3-year worldwide warranty, extendable to 5 years — the same platform and support behind the LTO-9 version of this XTF desktop, for facilities standardising on one enclosure across tape generations.
