The SymplyDIT XTF Thunderbolt desktop pairs a full-height LTO-9 tape drive with two 2.5" SSD docking bays in a sleek space-grey enclosure, for on-set DIT workflows that need heavier archive throughput than a half-height drive. It connects over Thunderbolt 3 or 12 Gb/s SAS.

Ingest bays for camera media

The SSD docking bays use a SymplyDIT 2.5-inch drive tray, bridging SATA SSDs — including via an Atomos Master Caddy — to the Thunderbolt connection, so footage can be offloaded to SSD or copied straight to LTO-9 tape from the same unit.

Full-height LTO-9 throughput

The full-height LTO-9 drive holds up to 18TB natively at up to 400 MB/s, run from an internal auto-switching power supply (110-240V).

Ready to run

In the box: data and cleaning cartridges, a 2m active Thunderbolt 4 cable and the SymplyDIT drive tray, plus SymplyATOM software for macOS. Symply backs the unit with a 3-year worldwide warranty, extendable to 5 years, and it is TAA Certified. LTFS lets a finished tape mount and copy like a removable drive, and once removed from the drive that cartridge is a fully offline, air-gapped copy, isolated from network-based ransomware.
