The NT3 is an end-address 3/4-inch true-condenser microphone with a gold-sputtered, externally biased capsule, built for detailed capture across almost any instrument — drums, percussion, acoustic guitar, guitar amps, piano — as well as voice work as a handheld presentation mic or indoor boom mic. It runs on either 48V phantom power or a 9V battery, so it can be used where console or camera power isn't available. The cardioid pickup pattern isolates the source signal, and the transformerless, audio-grade surface-mount output circuitry gives a high level of rejection to RF interference and bad grounding. The body is cast metal with a satin-nickel finish and internal capsule shockmounting, and the microphone carries a 10-year extended warranty when registered with Rode.
