The Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. is a walkaround standard zoom for Micro Four Thirds, spanning a 24-120mm full-frame equivalent range from wide-angle to short telephoto. Maximum aperture runs f/2.8-4 through the zoom, with an overall aperture range of f/2.8 to f/22. Four aspherical elements and two Extra-Low Dispersion elements control distortion and colour fringing across the range. A linear autofocus motor drives focus, and POWER O.I.S. stabilises handheld shooting at both ends of the zoom. Splash-, dust- and freezeproof construction with a rounded 9-blade diaphragm makes this a practical everyday lens on the Micro Four Thirds mount, suited to documentary, event and general production work where swapping primes on the move isn't practical.
