The Ultimate 2560 Fluid Head Package is designed for the current crop of digital cinema cameras. Weighing less than 18 pounds, it supports camera payloads up to 65 lb (29.5 kg) at a 6" centre of gravity above the platform, which suits cameras such as the ARRI Alexa in a portable configuration or a lightweight digital cinema camera in a full studio build. It is a head that carries the same weight class whether it is travelling on an owner-operator's shoulder rig or anchoring a crewed studio setup.

Patented counterbalance

OConnor's patented sinusoidal counterbalance system gives accurate balance at any point in the tilt range, holding the camera where the operator places it across the full tilt arc rather than pulling forward or back.

Fluid drag and cine controls

Stepless pan and tilt fluid drag supports controlled cine-style moves. The head is laid out to cinema-standard control positioning, including brakes and rosettes, so the operating points fall where a cine operator expects them.

Tripod compatibility

The package includes both a Mitchell base and a 150mm ball base adapter, each with tie-downs, for expanded tripod compatibility — so the head drops onto a Mitchell-mount or a 150mm bowl tripod as the job requires.

Quick release and pan handles

A large Euro-style quick release handles rapid mounting and dismounting of large camera rigs, and the package ships with a pan handle and a pan handle extension for reach and control at the head.
