The USB Capture HDMI Plus is a compact, single-channel HDMI capture device with a built-in scaler: it captures HDMI sources such as game consoles at up to DCI 4K resolution and automatically upscales or downscales the signal to 2K for recording or streaming, so no external scaling hardware or manual resolution setup is needed. A loop-through HDMI port carries the signal on to a local monitor for local viewing while capturing, and mic and headphone jacks sit alongside the video path for audio input and monitoring. As an external USB Capture device, it connects directly to a host computer rather than fitting inside one, and its processing pipeline adds deinterlacing and image control on top of the built-in scaling. It runs without installing extra drivers on Windows, Mac and Linux, and is rated for continuous 24/7 operation over its USB connection.
