The JBL 7-Series 705P is a self-powered, bi-amplified 5-inch master reference monitor for critical music recording, film post and broadcast production. It pairs a 2409H high-frequency compression driver — a low-mass annular diaphragm giving smooth response beyond 36 kHz at very low distortion — with a 725G low-frequency transducer that delivers 14 mm peak-to-peak excursion for greater linearity and low-frequency output below 39 Hz. JBL's Image Control Waveguide holds accuracy and neutrality across a wide sweet spot in a broad range of rooms, and the drivers are rated to deliver two to three times the output of existing studio monitors. On-board dual amplification pairs a 250 W Class-D amplifier for the high-frequency driver with a 250 W Class-D amplifier for the low-frequency driver, with room EQ and delay controls plus six factory and user-defined presets. A balanced XLR/quarter-inch combo analogue input and an XLR AES3 digital input, steel grilles and a birch plywood enclosure round out a self-contained monitor built for accurate reference listening.
