The JBL 7-Series 708i is a modular, scalable 8-inch master reference monitor for post-production and broadcast, designed to combine with other 7-Series monitors and JBL's Master Reference Monitor into systems that scale to the room. Its 8-inch woofer reproduces frequencies down to 35 Hz and its high-frequency driver responds up to 36 kHz. Rather than carrying an amplifier at each cabinet, it runs on the 7-Series' centralised amplification and processing, so a stereo or surround array needs no power source at every location. JBL's Image Control Waveguide gives a smooth crossover and uncoloured response through the critical dialogue range, a neutral off-axis response for room-to-room consistency, and coherent imaging across screen channels, surrounds and overhead speakers. It is mountable and Harman HiQnet compatible, suiting fixed installs from a single edit suite to a full broadcast facility.
