The Canon CR-N100 is an indoor 4K PTZ camera for remote-operated work in lecture rooms, corporate spaces, houses of worship and live events, and for online content. One operator can run it from a controller or an app, and it connects over IP, HDMI or USB.
Image and zoom
A 1/2.3-type CMOS sensor and the DIGIC DV6 processor capture UHD 4K at up to 30p, 4:2:2 10-bit over HDMI, with over-sampled processing that derives Full HD from the 4K sensor. The 20x optical zoom is image stabilised and covers 29.3 to 601 mm in 35mm equivalent terms in 4K UHD, with a further 20x digital zoom.
Focus that holds in low light
Hybrid AF pairs contrast AF with phase-detection AF and an external sensor that measures subject distance, for quick focus even in low light. Face detection and tracking can recognise up to nine faces, and minimum subject illumination is approx. 1.5 lux.
Tracking and remote control
Auto tracking runs through Canon's RA-AT001 (Lite) app, free with firmware 1.1.0 or later; a paid RA-AT001 licence is needed for full functionality. Pan covers ±170° and tilt -30° to +100°, with movements as slow as 0.2°/s and up to 100 presets. It works with the RC-IP300 controller and Canon's Remote Camera Control Application.
Streaming and connections
NDI|HX2, SRT, RTSP/RTP, RTMP/RTMPS and Canon's XC protocol handle streaming and control over IP. Video leaves by HDMI, IP or USB-C, with HDMI and IP both supporting 4K30p and USB working as a UVC camera. A 3.5 mm mic input and RS-422 serial port are on board, and one PoE+ cable carries power and data.
Compact install
At about 2.2 kg and 154 x 178 x 164 mm, it suits tight mounting positions, and it operates from 0 to +40°C. A mounting bracket, safety wires and a WL-N01 remote control are supplied.
