The Videohub 40x40 12G Zero-Latency Video Router from Blackmagic Design provides 40 x 12G-SDI inputs and 40 x 12G-SDI outputs for routing any combination of SD, HD, UHD 4K and DCI 4K video. It centralises SDI cabling into one hub, so any input can be sent to any output -- or a single input to multiple outputs -- without clusters of cables or complex patch diagrams.

Every format, one hub

Multi-rate 12G-SDI connections route up to 40 different video standards at the same time, with support for resolutions up to DCI 4K60. Routing covers 4:2:2 8- or 10-bit colour in any standard, and 4:4:4 12-bit SDI up to DCI 4K30 for feature films. SDI reclocking on every output regenerates the signal, reducing signal loss and jitter over longer cable runs.

Control from the front panel

A sleek front panel offers assignable-shortcut buttons alongside In, Out, Clear and Take buttons, plus a machined metal spin knob with an electronic clutch for precise control. A built-in 5-inch LCD shows the live input before routing, with bottom labels that scroll through sources in alphabetical order -- removing the need for an external SDI monitor.

Scales with the facility

In larger facilities, the 40x40 can be paired with optional hardware panels for control when components are spread across a site, and it's compatible with both the Videohub Master Control Pro and Smart Control Pro. It fits equally well alongside multiple HyperDeck recorders for redundant mastering, routing to several streaming processors, or feeding extra inputs into an ATEM switcher.

Software and setup

Videohub Software Control gives Mac and Windows users touchscreen router control, the Videohub Setup software gets the router running, and an SDK adds protocol support for broadcast automation systems.
