Blackmagic Design HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G
The HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G records eight cameras at the same time for live production, writing broadcast-quality Apple ProRes — HQ, 422, LT or Proxy at up to 2160p60 — direct to network storage over 100G Ethernet. A built-in hardware encoder handles all eight Ultra HD ProRes streams in real time, and because the files sit on shared storage, DaVinci Resolve can edit them while recording continues — the basis of a live-action replay system using the multi-source viewer and an optional Replay Editor.
Connections are fully redundant: two 100G QSFP28 ports carry the SMPTE-2110 video network and two more carry network storage traffic, with SMPTE-2022-7 sending identical copies down both paths so a failed link never drops a frame. PTP reference and control connections are also duplicated, NMOS IS-04/IS-05 handles discovery and each 2110 stream can embed up to 64 audio channels. All eight channels play back as well, and a Blackmagic SDI Expander 8x12G adds 12G-SDI connectivity.
Formats span HD, Ultra HD to 2160p60 and 4K DCI to 4Kp30 in 10-bit 4:2:2, with Rec. 709 and Rec. 2020 colourspace and HDR support including Hybrid Log-Gamma and ST2084. The natural storage partner is the Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra — the HyperDeck records into one of its 100G ports while edit workstations read from the other.
The deck itself keeps traditional broadcast controls: 16 transport buttons, a machined-metal search dial with electronic clutch, a 2.2 inch colour display plus front speaker, headphone jack and USB-C. Two SDI monitor outputs and HDMI sit on the rear, external control spans RS-422, the HyperDeck Ethernet Protocol, a REST API and FTP with Web Media Manager, and dual internal power supplies complete the redundancy.
