The HyperDeck Extreme Control brings traditional deck controls to virtually any type of deck, connecting over RS-422. Eight RS-422 ports allow control of up to eight decks at once, including legacy decks and the HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR, in a 3 RU, half-rack width installation. Controls cover transport, timecode and deck status buttons, plus a large search dial for jog, shuttle and positioning, alongside a row of eight recorder-selection buttons and a row of eight player-selection buttons. To protect videotape masters, recording requires pressing the REC and PLAY buttons at the same time. A built-in editor supports deck-to-deck editing, with flexible in and out point entry and pre-roll edits to cue decks ahead of a recording, backed by a full timecode display showing the status of each connected deck.
