The Shogun Classic is a 7.2" on-camera HDR monitor-recorder from Atomos, built around a 1920x1200 touchscreen (1920x1080 image display) with a 10-bit (8+2 FRC) panel, 360-zone backlight, 3000 cd/m2 (±10%) brightness and a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Its native AtomHDR display shows log-gamma footage accurately, without flat, washed-out images or the need for a monitoring LUT. Video I/O covers HDMI plus 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI and 3G-SDI (two 12G-SDI and four 3G-SDI ports), supporting resolutions up to DCI 4K (4096x2160) at 60p and up to 2K at 240p for slow-motion work, with Dolby Vision HDR output to a compatible display via the AtomOS10 platform. Four HD-SDI inputs can be switched live, recording four individual ISO feeds plus a program mix in one pass — the defining capability that sets the Shogun Classic apart from a single-input recording monitor. Recording is to 2.5" SSDs in Apple ProRes RAW, ProRes, CinemaDNG (up to 30p) and Avid DNxHD, giving DCI 4K raw recording straight off the camera.
