The AJA 3G-AMA is a 3G-SDI mini-converter that embeds or disembeds up to four channels of audio on an SDI signal; disembedding is always active on the SDI output, while embedding is selectable by channel pair. It includes a breakout cable providing four balanced XLR analogue inputs and four balanced XLR analogue outputs — embedding passes incoming SDI audio through or embeds the analogue input audio instead, selectable by channel pair, while up to four channels of digital SDI audio are disembedded and output as analogue signals via the four XLR outputs at all times. The output SDI signal is re-clocked to preserve signal integrity over long cable runs, and the unit is configured using AJA's free MiniConfig software.
