The AJA 3G-AM is a triple-rate 3G/HD/SD-SDI 8-channel AES audio embedder/disembedder, with audio embedded and disembedded simultaneously. Embedding is user-selectable on a channel-pair basis, to either pass the existing SDI input audio through or embed AES audio supplied on the breakout cable. Because it also passes incoming ancillary data, two units can be cascaded to embed up to 16 channels of audio. It supports formats up to 2048x1080p and is configured via DIP switches or Windows/Mac software. This model ships with a BNC breakout cable for the AES audio input and output.
