The AJA 12G-AM is a 12G-SDI 8-channel AES audio embedder/disembedder mini-converter, supporting 12G-SDI input and output up to 4K/UltraHD and automatically detecting and configuring to the incoming video standard. AES audio disembedding runs continuously, always delivering four AES outputs, while embedding is user-selectable on a channel-pair basis — either passing the incoming SDI audio straight through or embedding AES audio supplied on the breakout cable. An XLR breakout cable carries eight channels of AES audio in and out. Fibre-equipped models in the 12G-AM range add single-link fibre I/O in LC or ST connector options, in transmitter, receiver or transceiver configurations, for carrying the signal over longer distances.
