The Teradek Bolt 6 XT carries 4K over the air with zero delay: its transmitter and receiver send up to 4K60 10-bit 4:2:2 HDR over 12G-SDI, on the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. Choose the range, and a transmitter and receiver set or a Deluxe kit with Gold Mount or V-Mount battery plates on both units.

How far it reaches

The 750 and 1500 reach up to 750 ft and 1,500 ft, line of sight. The MAX reaches up to 5,000 ft with an Array Antenna in Broadcast Mode, which also takes a MAX transmitter from six receivers to an unlimited number. The 750 uses V (vertical) antennas, and the 1500 and MAX add H (horizontal) antennas, built for challenging RF.

Video in and out

The transmitter takes 12G-SDI or HDMI 2.0, loops out 12G-SDI and converts HDMI to SDI. The receiver outputs 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0, scales frame rate and resolution and applies 17x17x17 3D LUTs with 10-bit colour. Delay is under 0.001 seconds, and two channels of embedded audio, metadata, timecode and start/stop flags pass through from most cameras.

Control and the link

Each unit has an on-screen menu, joystick navigation and Bluetooth. The link is AES-256 encrypted with RSA-1024 key exchange. One transmitter feeds up to six receivers, and up to six sets can work in one location alongside Wi-Fi and 5 GHz cordless phones.

Build, power and kits

Without battery plates, the milled aluminium transmitter is 132 x 91 x 27 mm and 344 g, and the receiver 112 x 139 x 27 mm and 430 g. Each runs on 6 to 28 V DC through a locking 2-pin connector. Every set comes with a carry case, rigid V antennas, two 12G-SDI and two PowerTap cables and a 30 W AC adapter. Deluxe kits and the MAX transmitter and receiver sets fit both units with battery plates and add a Wooden Camera Ultra Arm, colour bands and a 2-pin to 2-pin (Alexa) cable; the 1500 and MAX Deluxe kits come in an XL case with an Antenna Array.
