The Sony PXW-Z750 4K UHD Broadcast Camcorder is a shoulder-mount, 3-chip 2/3-inch CMOS sensor camera for broadcast, news, documentary and sports production, recording up to UHD 4K at 3840x2160 resolution, with a global shutter and B4 lens compatibility built around existing ENG lens kits.

A 3-chip sensor with a global shutter

The 3-chip 2/3-inch CMOS sensor is paired with a global shutter, preventing artefacts such as 'jello' motion distortion and flash banding — a feature set suited to the fast pans, quick cuts and strobe-lit environments that broadcast, news, documentary and sports crews commonly shoot in.

XAVC recording up to UHD 4K

The PXW-Z750 supports Sony's XAVC codec for recording up to UHD 4K at 59.94p — the same codec support as its predecessor, the PXW-Z450 — plus up to 120 fps variable frame-rate recording at 1080p. It records in both XAVC and MPEG H.264 formats, with simultaneous recording to both SxS card slots, and the XAVC-I codec delivers HDR-quality video with 10-bit, 4:2:2 colour sampling for greater colour depth and image quality.

A B4 mount and a lighter shoulder-mount body

A Sony 2/3-inch bayonet B4 lens mount accommodates existing professional ENG broadcast zoom lenses, so crews already invested in B4 glass can move it across to the PXW-Z750. The body is lighter than the older PDW-700 camcorder, making shoulder-mounted location shooting easier over a long shift.

Broadcast interfaces

Connectivity includes 3G-SDI input and output plus an HDMI video output, an RJ45 Ethernet port and USB 3.0 control ports for network and remote control, along with genlock and timecode for locking into multi-camera broadcast setups.
