The Canon HF G70 is a UHD 4K camcorder for run-and-gun and documentary shooters who need a self-contained camera with serious zoom reach. Built around a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor, its integrated 20x optical zoom lens covers a 35mm-equivalent focal range of approximately 29.3–601mm in 4K, backed by 5-axis image stabilisation to keep long lenses steady handheld. A Hybrid AF system with adjustable Fast or Smooth response, touch autofocus and Face Detection AF and tracking keeps focus locked on the subject, with a manual focus/zoom ring for direct control.

Recording runs to dual SD card slots with relay and simultaneous options, in UHD 4K up to 30p or Full HD up to 120p, with slow-motion down to 0.5x, fast-motion up to 1200x and interval recording available in both formats. On-screen time, date and timecode metadata can be embedded into the file for productions that need it logged. Five assignable buttons, a joystick, a lens ring and a custom dial sit around a tiltable electronic viewfinder and an adjustable 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD, with built-in ND filters for exposure control.
