Built for on-set, studio and broadcast use, the Sony LMD-A240 is a 24" IPS LCD production monitor with a 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angle, driving a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 — the largest screen in the LMD-A range, suited to a studio or OB monitoring bay where the extra screen area helps with multi-camera or grading review. Inputs cover 3G/HD/SD-SDI (two, with active loop-through), HDMI and composite, supporting NTSC/PAL, 720p, 1080i and 1080p signals at frame rates from 24p to 60p. Compared with earlier LMD-series monitors, it adds low-latency automatic I/P conversion and a new video-processing engine for improved image accuracy, plus on-screen tally and yoke mounting screw holes. On-set monitoring and grading checks are covered by a built-in waveform and vectorscope, focus assist with adjustable coloured peaking, time code display and a Slog2-to-Rec.709 LUT, while a built-in audio decoder displays up to 16 channels of embedded SDI audio. Power comes via 12V DC on a 4-pin XLR connector.
