The Allegro USB Type-C 4-Port PCIe Card adds four USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C ports to a compatible macOS, Linux or Windows computer with a spare PCIe 2.0 x4 slot. Two USB 3.1 Gen 2 controllers each drive a pair of the card's four ports, sharing up to 20 Gb/s of combined throughput between them and supporting data transfer speeds up to 800 MB/s to connected drives. Each port can supply up to 7.5W of power to bus-powered hard drives, SSDs and other USB Type-C devices, with the card drawing that power directly from the PCIe slot rather than a separate connector. It's a compact four-port option for a system that needs Type-C connectivity without the eight-port count of the larger Allegro Pro card.
