The SmallHD Cine 7 Sony BURANO, FX6, VENICE, VENICE 2 Kit pairs a Cine 7 monitor with SmallHD's Camera Control licence for those four Sony cameras, so key camera settings sit on a 7-inch touchscreen beside the picture.

On the touchscreen you can start and stop recording, select the ND filter and set frame rate, shutter speed, ISO and colour temperature or white balance, with partial LUT configuration and clip playback. The monitor also shows the camera's timecode, media status, frame rate, resolution, battery information and recording format.

What comes in the box

The kit includes the Cine 7, the Camera Control licence, a 36-inch slim Ethernet control cable, a Sony L-Series battery bracket, an UltraClear screen protector, a Smart 7 Sunhood, an 8GB SD card, a 36-inch P-Tap to 2-pin power cable and a SmallHD cleaning cloth. Using it with an FX6 also needs a USB-C to Ethernet adapter at the camera, which this kit doesn't include. Once registered to a SmallHD monitor, the Camera Control licence can't be removed or transferred.

Cine 7 specifications

Cine 7 has a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen with 10-bit processing on an 8-bit panel, two 3G-SDI inputs (the second doubles as a loop out) and an HDMI input with loop-through. It integrates with Teradek RT and Bolt. Gold Mount or V-Mount battery plates are optional.

Tools and power

PageOS carries frame guides, focus and exposure assist, 3D LUT overlays, histogram, vectorscope and waveform. Power comes in at 10 to 34 V DC through a 2-pin locking input, or from Sony L-Series batteries, and the anodised aluminium body has four 1/4-20 mounting points.
