The NTG4 is a phantom-powered shotgun microphone with digitally switchable pad and frequency settings in place of analogue switches, built for indoor or outdoor sound on indie film, TV, and documentary shoots. A selectable 75Hz low-cut filter tames rumble, and a switchable treble boost is available when extra clarity is needed. Low-noise circuitry and minimal handling noise cut down on audio clean-up in post-production. Elevated sensitivity produces strong output levels without heavy gain at the mic preamp, and the NTG4 has a high maximum SPL before distortion. Sonically it leans warm, with a gentle dip in high frequencies. It has a lightweight metal housing and ships with a windscreen.
