The NTG2 runs from either an AA battery or phantom power — a flexible, cost-effective choice for indie film, TV, and documentary sound where clean dialogue and effects recording is the priority, indoors or outside. It has low handling noise and a high maximum SPL before distortion, so it copes with loud sound sources without breaking up. Elevated sensitivity produces strong output levels without heavy gain at the mic preamp, and a slight presence boost in the high frequencies pairs with a selectable 80Hz low-cut filter to cut rumble. The housing is high-grade aluminium, lightweight and durable, finished in hard-wearing epoxy paint to withstand the stress of location recording. It ships with a windscreen.
