The PTZOptics IP Joystick G4 is a fourth-generation controller built to slot into existing production systems. It drives full pan, tilt and zoom with fine focus control, focus lock, direct exposure, white balance and red and blue gain, and works with most PTZ cameras over VISCA on either IP or serial — including Sony — switching between the two protocols at the touch of a button. A web interface speeds up setup, bringing multiple cameras online in around five minutes, and settings can be imported and exported for different productions or sets. On the network the controller obtains a DHCP address automatically, or takes a static IP where DHCP is not available. An expanded LCD screen and a bank of knobs give a single operator quick preset recall and fine tuning across basic, matrix and normal modes, with web-based and smartphone app control for added flexibility. It ships with a 12V 2A DC power supply and an 8-foot RS-232C cable, backed by a 2-year warranty.
