The Fujinon HA42x9.7BERD-U48 is a 2/3" broadcast telephoto lens built around a 42x optical zoom, with a built-in optical image stabiliser and a 2x extender for instant telephoto reach. Without the extender the lens covers a focal length of 9.7–410mm, extending to 19.4–820mm with the 2x extender engaged, giving a camera operator a single lens that spans wide-ish coverage through to long telephoto. Maximum relative aperture is F2 across 9.7–225mm, narrowing to F3.7 at 410mm. The built-in optical image stabiliser is included on this model, working alongside the 2x extender to keep long telephoto shots steady when the extender is engaged.

Inner focus and Fujinon's DIGI POWER handling

Inner focus keeps the lens's overall length constant while focusing, so the balance of a tripod- or shoulder-mounted rig doesn't shift as focus is pulled. QuickZoom gives an instant telephoto jump to verify focus at full reach before pulling back to frame, and the DIGI POWER feature set adds a zoom limiter to cap zoom travel plus auto-cruising zoom for repeatable, constant-speed zoom moves.

Minimum object distance is 2.8m, on an M127 x 0.75 filter thread, and the lens weighs 5.3kg without the lens hood — a manageable weight for a lens of this reach on ENG-style camera bodies.
