Built around Fujinon's 25x zoom platform for 2/3" ENG/EFP cameras, the HA25x11.5BERD-F18 starts at a wider 11.5mm than its 16.5mm sibling in this range, giving a broader starting frame before the same servo zoom and remote 2x extender carry the shot out to long telephoto. An internal-focus design keeps the lens body's length fixed as focus is pulled, and a compact, lightweight build suits gyro-stabilised aircraft rigs and other remote mounts that put the lens itself out of an operator's hand.

Wider start, long reach with a remote extender

The 11.5–288mm range without the extender opens onto a wider frame than the HA25x16.5 optical block manages at its own wide end, and switching the 2x extender in remotely pushes that out to 23–576mm without anyone needing to touch the lens barrel. Aperture holds at F2 through the wide end (11.5–206mm) and falls to F2.8 once the full 288mm is in use.

Internal focus keeps the shot steady

Because the lens focuses internally, its inner element group moves without the barrel itself changing length, so a gimbal or gyro mount's balance point doesn't shift as focus is pulled. QuickZoom snaps to full telephoto and back for a fast focus check, and the same Digi Power zoom/focus servo and RS232 control found across Fujinon's HA-series puts the lens under remote command.

Light enough to fly

This is the lighter of Fujinon's two HA25x optical blocks in this range at 2.8kg without the hood, with reduced focus breathing built in — qualities that matter most on an aircraft mount or remote housing where payload is limited, whether the job is wildlife work in remote locations or HD surveillance. It focuses down to 2.2m and takes an M107 x 1 filter.
