The Canon XA60 is a compact professional 4K camcorder with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor and a 20x optical zoom lens that runs from approximately 29.3 mm to 601 mm (35mm equivalent). It records 4K UHD at 25p, with XF-AVC up to 160 Mbps or MP4 up to 150 Mbps. Hybrid autofocus offers Instant, Medium and Normal AF settings alongside touch, face detection and tracking, and optical plus electronic stabilisation includes a Dynamic mode for handheld work.

A detachable handle unit provides two XLR inputs with 48 V phantom power, a cold shoe and an infrared lamp for infrared shooting. Two SD slots record simultaneously or in relay, and audio can be recorded as 4-channel linear PCM. A 3.5-inch touchscreen and a tiltable 0.36-inch OLED viewfinder handle framing. Outputs are mini HDMI and USB-C with UVC support for connecting to a computer; there is no SDI output. It suits news, documentary and event work where long reach matters.
