The Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM is a compact standard zoom for Canon's RF mount, covering 24 to 105mm for everyday stills and video. Its optical image stabiliser is rated at 5 stops by the CIPA standard, and its STM stepping motor drives autofocus that Canon describes as smooth and silent for video and fast and responsive for stills.

Centre Focus Macro gives 0.5x magnification at 24mm with manual focus, and 0.4x is available at 105mm. The focus ring and control ring are shared and switched on the side of the lens; on the control side the ring can be set to aperture, shutter speed, ISO or exposure compensation. The lens has 13 elements in 11 groups and 7 aperture blades, takes 67mm filters, measures 76.6 x 88.8mm retracted and weighs 395g.
