The Canon Mount Adapter PL-RF lets PL-mount lenses be used on the Canon EOS C400, EOS C80 and EOS C50 cinema cameras, so existing PL glass stays usable on Canon's RF-mount cinema bodies. It supports the Cooke /i Technology communication standard, which Canon says gives full electronic compatibility with PL lenses: lens metadata such as focus, zoom and iris position, plus the lens model, can be output in real time and recorded and displayed. On the EOS C80, Canon states that Cooke /i support is available only when the PL-RF adapter is fitted.

An included lock plate fastens the adapter to the camera body with screws in four places, to prevent rattling or play between camera and adapter. Canon notes that the adapter does not support the EOS C70 or EOS R5 C.
