A compact companion for cameras with 3G-SDI or HDMI output, the Video Assist 3G-SDI/HDMI 5" Recorder/Monitor puts a 5", 1920 x 1080, 300 cd/m2 display and loop-through video outputs on the rig. It monitors and records up to 1080p60 at 10-bit 4:2:2, with up to 16 channels of embedded 24-bit 48 kHz audio, writing to a single SDXC/SDHC memory card. Firmware 3.3.1 added a USB Type-C video output that lets the connected camera double as a webcam. On-screen focus peaking, false colour and zebra exposure aids sit alongside waveform, vectorscope and histogram displays, with 11 display-language options for international crews and dual Sony L-series battery slots for power in the field.
