Description
The UltraStudio Mini Recorder 12G is the input-only model in Blackmagic's UltraStudio Mini 12G range, a compact Thunderbolt 4 capture device with both 12G-SDI and HDMI inputs, carrying video and power over a single cable. It's built for the job of getting pictures into a computer — live streaming, archiving old masters or feeding an AI image-processing pipeline. The multi-rate 12G-SDI input runs with a loop output for passing the signal downstream, and the HDMI 2.0 input adds Deep Colour support, switching between SD, HD, Ultra HD and 4K. Capture is broadcast quality throughout, covering every SD, HD and Ultra HD standard up to 2160p60 at 10-bit, with up to 12-bit RGB 4:4:4 available at up to 2160p30. Audio runs to 16 channels of embedded sound on SDI and 8 on HDMI, at 48 kHz, 24-bit. Built on the DeckLink API, it works natively with DaVinci Resolve, OBS, Wirecast, vMix and Zoom, recording to Apple ProRes, DNxHR, AVC-Intra, XDCAM, HEVC or uncompressed on Apple Silicon Macs, Windows or Linux.
