The Sync Generator provides six crystal-stabilised video reference outputs for keeping all the video equipment in a studio locked to a common reference, in either high-definition Tri-Sync or standard-definition Blackburst — a compact option suited to small studios and outside broadcasts alike. Each of the six BNC outputs carries common Blackburst or tri-level reference, switchable to match the format in use, with analogue format support spanning 525i29.97 NTSC and 625i50 PAL through 720p50/59.94/60, 1080i50/59.94/60, 1080p23.98 to 1080p30, and 1080PsF23.98/24, at 270Mb or 1.5G rates set via mini switches. Configuration and firmware updates run over USB with an included updater application for Mac or Windows. The unit draws just 3 watts from its supplied 12V universal power supply, which comes with international socket adapters, and a cable tie point keeps the power lead from pulling out mid-shoot.
