The UpDownCross 100G is an 8 channel broadcast standards converter with native SMPTE-2110 connections over 100G Ethernet. It converts up to 8 separate channels of SD, HD and Ultra HD video to any other standard simultaneously, and because one 100G port carries all 8 inputs and 8 outputs, a single connection handles every channel.

The 1RU design uses quiet front-to-back cooling and carries redundant 100G QSFP28 connections for full SMPTE-2022-7 protection switching — two identical streams over separate networks, rebuilt frame perfect from whichever RTP packet arrives first. Dual redundant AC power supplies and a separate 1G NMOS control port keep it dependable, with NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 discovery and PTP v2 timing.

Standards run from 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL through 720p, 1080i, 1080p and PsF to 2160p60, including 1080p47.95 and 48 and their Ultra HD equivalents. Processing is 10-bit 4:2:2 YUV in Rec 709 and Rec 2020, with 16 channels of embedded audio on each 2110 IP stream at 48 kHz and 24-bit, and full SMPTE 2110-40 ancillary data including RP 188 timecode, closed captioning and HDR metadata.

A built in 2.2 inch LCD and search dial let you scrub between inputs and monitor video, audio, standard and timecode from the front panel, with a speaker and 6.35mm headphone jack for confidence checks. USB-C handles configuration and firmware updates, and the optional Blackmagic IP10 codec adds 2160p59.94 and 2160p60 as 2110 IP video.
